Upcoming Events:
Human Trafficking 101
The University of Michigan’s Human Trafficking Clinic, launched in 2009, is the first clinical law program solely dedicated to the issue of human trafficking. The Human Trafficking Clinic provides a range of services, including direct representation of both domestic trafficking victims and foreign nationals trafficked into the United States, advocacy for trafficking victims, and community education and training.
On Friday, April 20, 2012, Matthew Robert Boucher, a University of Michigan law student who works in the Human Trafficking Clinic, will present a session entitled Human Trafficking 101 at 2:00 p.m. in Van Lare Hall 123 on the campus of Alpena Community College. The presentation will focus on two points: first, what exactly human trafficking means; and second, who human trafficking affects. Information about the University of Michigan Law School Human Trafficking Clinic will also be provided.
This presentation is sponsored by Alpena Community College and the Zonta Club of Alpena with thanks to the Community Foundation For Northeast Michigan for funding the event.
