The purpose of the event was to give an overview of our mission and the Zonta Club of Alpena's various activities, offerings, and accomplishments.

Zonta Literacy Committee
The Zonta Club of Alpena's Literacy Committee is striving to provide books for Alpena Regional Medical Center's newborns and their siblings. In choosing ARMC as the location of our literacy project this year, Zonta has sought to ensure a wide distribution area, as women from several surrounding counties choose ARMC to aid in the delivery of their babies. Alpena County averages 250 to 300 births per year.
The Literacy Committee has an annual budget of $300.00. Therefore, on February 9th, committee members ventured to Blue Phoenix Books and purchased approximately 100 books (spending a total of $300.14). Each book will receive a custom Zonta Club of Alpena sticker and a loving home.
